We leave Aveiro heading south where we reach Curia, a thermal resort, with a verdant park that invites you to relax and rest.
We continue down south to the village of Luso, another thermal resort at the foot of the Bussaco Mountain, that takes advantage of the excellent waters that come from these hills.
Discover this picturesque village with its famous fountain of São João (Saint John) where you can taste the acclaimed Luso water.
The centenary and well preserved Bussaco Forest is rich in numerous and rare flora and the most valuable woods of the Portuguese natural heritage.
Inside the forest, which is completely walled, you can find several chapels from the old Carmelita’s Convent and also, the Palace Hotel, a Royal residence built in the end of the XIX century, which is known as the most important Portuguese revivalist building. Today this building is one of the most important Romanticist buildings of the country, of Neo-Manuelino style, where you can find valuable hand painted tiles and amazing painted murals.
We head up hill, towards Cruz Alta, an astonishing observation point with breath taking views, where, in days with clear skies, you can see the silver line of the Atlantic beaches.
