Caramulo Mountains and surrounding villages tour

Caramulo is an enchanting but almost secret place full of contrasts between hills and valleys where the fresh air combines with the amazing landscape.
The mountain is inhabited by villages with houses and granaries in granite which is usual in this region. Having been populated by the romans, we can still find traces of those times in some of the stone trails existent.
We will climb the Caramulinho trail, the highest point of the mountain with 1075 metres where, on a clear day, you can admire the ocean and the Serra da Estrela (Star Mountain).
After a delicious and traditional lunch, explore the Cabeço de Neve, another view point where you can admire the magnificent views of this place.
We will explore the village of Caramulo as once it was considered one of the most important resorts in the treatment of tuberculosis of the Iberian Peninsula.
On our way back, we will discover one of the many Dolmens that exist in this Region and are proof that the mountains had human occupancy since ancient times.
